Catch up!!

Wow - I just realized it has been September since I last posted anything.  It got me to thinking - what have I been doing during that time.   So, I combed through my phone's photos and found a number of items I completed but didn't post - the first couple where before September.

Created a cover to protect my coffee table from the munchins when they come over.

Participated in the 2014 Row By Row Experience (http://www.rowbyrowexperience.com/) - this is a "UFO" - all sandwiched together, but still waiting for the quilting to be done.
1. Top row (flag) from a Quilt shop in Wabash, IN.
2. Fireworks From Jackman's Fabrics - St. Louis
3. Gateway Arch- A quilt shop in O'Fallen, MO.
4. Sub-Flag-Sailboat - "That's Sew Debbie" in Groton, CT.
5. Flip Flops - Stitch Chicks in Franklin, CT.
6. Racecars - Quilt Quarters in Carmel, IN
7. Snowmen - A shop in South Bend, IN
8. Sunflowers - On the left side, Crown Point, IN
9. Turtles - On the right side, Noblesville, IN
10. Flowers in The Corners from another Wabash shop.

And, yes, I visited each shop personally - All of them great shops!  Jackman's in St. Louis is wonderful  - big and full of more than just quilting fabric (though there is a ton of that). Stitch Chicks is a wonderful little shop in Franklin, CT - just north of Norwich.  The ladies are super friendly and the quilt fabric selection is great!

Halloween Mug Rugs, just for the fun of it - hubby took them to the ladies in his office.

And, below, three onesies I embellished for a neighbor's new born!  You can tell the time of year by that third one!

I completed another of these plus a matching burp cloth for another friend, but sadly didn't take a picture of it.

And.........
... for the annual Chamber Auction - Tote Bag, and two wine bags (wine included).  (Also made and donated three burlap garden flags I didn't get pictures of either apparently - but hubby says he has seen them around town.  Maybe I'll sneak into someone's yard and take a shot - - picture that is.)

I am finishing up a couple of baby quilts I hope to have posted in a few days.  Seems there should be more.

Garden Flags

I had so much fun Saturday making these garden flags for my sister-in-laws. We all got together for Sunday dinner at mom and Dads. "G" already has hers in her garden and sent me the picture below of it there. What beautiful roses those are.  The whole picture makes me smile.
"D" on the other hand hasn't even had time to drive home yet!   Below is the one she has - we previewed it in mom and dad's yard. It has a backside.

I didn't take a picture of the back in the yard, but had taken pictures on my wall at home last night.
I love Halloween!

"Go Green" lunch bag.

Made of food-safe PUL fabric, this will be donated to the office United Way Campaign events. Likely it'll go in the Auction-I'll leave that up to the event coordinator.

I made a second lunch bag for a friends birthday.  She loves patriotic prints.   Most of this bag is made with cotton quilting fabric, but the lining is PUL.

More baby things!

My grandson's day care provider is about to have her first grandson. I said I would personalize some items for her. My daughter must have told her a little more as she sent a blanket and a half dozen clothe diapers.  I personalized the blanket. I made burp clothes of the diapers and personalized one and made bibs to go with two of the burp clothes.  My daughter insisted on something with soccer as the mom-to-be really loves soccer.

Spoil the grandchild!

Late in finishing this post, I made this chair for the grandson a couple of months ago.  It's a really interesting pattern!  Make four pillow firms, attach them together with Velcro then slip cover them.

2014 Retired Teacher's Luncheon.

This is a large tote!  This Friday is the annual retired teacher's luncheon. Here is this year's bag for one of the ladies.  I am also going to make a few gift card holders. Hubby has something on mind for them.

Inside I added a zipped pocket and a "T2" label.

For our friend, the music teacher.

A mug rug approximately 6"x10".  The idea came from a pic on pinterest.  The treble clef design was purchased on embroiderydesign.com, the rest I created on my own.

Five Gals!!

You've heard of Five Guys serving up burgers?  These are Five Gals serving up food in a church kitchen.
One of these wonderful ladies works with me so I was more than happy to help out by adding a little flair to their aprons. She and I worked together to pick a graphic design and wording.

Three of the Angels are brunette and two are blonde, but otherwise they are five matching aprons.

The Angel design we selected came from www.emblibrary.com and the lettering was a font included in my Brother Quattro 6700D. The black aprons are from Michael's.

I hear the event was a success.

Getting ready for our visitors!

In just a few days our community will again be hosting a group of students and chaperones from our sister town of Motegi Japan.  I have been busy embroidering shirts for the 15 students and making handmade gifts for the 3 adults.

One of the adults is female so it was easy for me to decide on this quilted tote.

However, deciding what to make for the two gentlemen was not so easy. Hubby and I finally decided to visit Teavana where we found two beautiful Tea-for-one cup/pot sets to which we will add one of these mug rugs.

Never Again!

On July 30, 2012 I posted the completion of the second of three t-shirt quilts I had promised folks.  Now at long last I have finished the third and final one.  Phew! If I ever agree to do another I deserve a straight jacket.  Oh, who am I kidding!  If/when one of the grand kids wants one, I'll be right there!  Maybe just a little smaller next time.

Baby boom

There's been quite a lot if babies born in our circle of family and friends. I can't make enough things quick enough. I made two of these cute little bibs for two little boys born in the past couple of weeks.  These went along with a onesie with tie and suspenders appliquéd on- I forgot to take a picture of the most recent one. Drat!!

For Boo!

My daughter said she was jealous of the onesies I made for baby boy "K".  Why don't I make something like that for her son ("Boo" as Grammy calls him)?  So I did!

A different baby K!

A co worker is having a little baby boy and tomorrow we are having a baby shower. I don't know what they will name their bundle of joy, but their last name starts with a K so I guess he is another " baby K"

I saw a scad of these tie/suspenders onesies in Pinterest and have been wanting to try it. So, this and the matching burp cloth are for little baby boy K.

For baby K

My niece had a beautiful baby girl in November. We call her baby K. My niece started that before little baby K was born.  They had decided on a name but were not sharing it until after birth, but with this little hint, "baby K".

These are for little baby K! Two onesies and a burp cloth.

After long hiatus, another bag...

It has been quite some time since I made one of these bags (or posted much of anything for that matter).  A couple of months ago they hired a new lady in hubby's office and since I've made a bag for all the other ladies of the office, we wanted to include her as well.  Hubby asked and she said she likes paisley, so I picked this brown/orange/green/tan print from Joann Fabrics and the green pattern that matched real well for the accents.  The lining is a subtle tan on white print. Hubby took it in today, but I haven't heard anything as of yet.  I hope she likes it.
